A Snack for little champions!

Since the beginning of winter, we (my family) have a routine of “Sunday outdoors. Hiking, sledding, skiing or snowshoeing in function of temperature. Given the lack of snow is more often than anything else … the hike Regardless, we move, we breathe the fresh air and it was fun.

Our greatest pleasure is to see our two little Eskimo fun, work and reach the goal shouting victoriously “won ze” and “e gnagna! . Obviously, we agree on the “work” just walk with a snowsuit and winter boots is a sport when it was 1 year and 3 years! They still manage to go shopping, and win both. Then they take respite in the sled or backpack for a while … or to the cottage. Red cheeks and a runny nose, they arrive at their favorite activity: the snack.

I am certain, or at least convince me that I love my boy and girl love the outdoors itself, but it must be admitted that the post-outdoor, après-ski as part of the fun for everyone. And then a snack outside the home is always special. I’m serving the same food, when I leave the little plastic container and water bottle (or even more special: the juice box) is the party!

Sniffing again, Laura and Benjamin eat heartily raisins and chunks of cheese they have in their respective container. And I can understand that it is with relish. The snack is essential in normal times, imagine after climbing Mount Everest (or almost)!

Children have needs relatively high, with their small stomachs, may be difficult to fill. Snacks are needed for the majority of them. From a nutritional point of view, the ideal snack provides carbohydrates (sugars) quickly to calm the hunger and protein to sustain longer. By combining two foods of different food groups we achieved most easily. Provided that your child needs 2 feeds, as some are content to one.

Cheese and dried fruit are a classic home. The glass of milk with the cookie or muffin house – when I’m disciplined enough – are particularly popular. The granola bars (not too sweet) and the juice box (real) are the ultimate indulgence!

And you, what snacks are a favorite of your little champions?
